The first embryo auction of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag in 2021 has been a successful one; both the jumping and the dressage embryos were sold for good prices to various buyers. Of the sixteen embryos offered, 75 percent were sold to a total of seven different countries. The Chacco Blue embryo out of the Van 't Roosakker family stays in the Netherlands for 18,000 euro, as does the Gribaldi embryo out of O.Bertje for 17,000 euro.
Once again international interest for the high quality collection of embryos of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. With this first edition of 2021, the auction year has been successfully kicked off. "A good start with many enthusiastic bidders, at both national and international level. We are also very satisfied with the sale of the various dressage embryos. It shows once again that interesting damlines combined with great stallions are in demand in both the showjumping and dressage markets," said chairman Arjan van der Waaij. "Therefore we are again pleased with the confidence of the breeders, who have contributed to this strong collection.”
Not only the jumping embryos, but also certainly the six dressage embryos were well sold in this online edition. The exclusive Gribaldi embryo out of top mare O.Bertje remains in the Netherlands for 17,000 euros; O.Bertje is the dam of Grand Prix stallion Tango, Grand Prix horse Bonzanjo and the KWPN National Mare champion Zhara-Obertje and D.Obertje.
The Lord Europe embryo out of O.Bertje was popular as well and will go to Great Britain for 12,000 euros. The embryo of multi-champion Valverde out of the KWPN National Mare champion Heliana V.O.D. - the half-sister of Kjento and Mowgli V.O.D. - goes to the same investor from Great Britain.
The Chacco Blue embryo out of the Bentley van de Heffinck daughter Grand Cru van 't Hagenhof will stay in the Netherlands for 18.000 euro, making it the top-seller of this first embryo auction of 2021. Grand Cru van 't Hagenhof is a daughter of Babbe van 't Roosakker - the famous Grand Prix showjumping mare bred directly out of Usha van 't Roosakker. Many interest was also shown to the other Chacco Blue embryo out of the Numero Uno daughter Lollypop van 't Heike – bred from the line of Valentina & Fairlight van 't Heike. This one will move to Belgium and has been sold for 14.000 euros. Two embryos were sold to Hungary and furthermore, embryos were sold to Poland, the United States and Spain.
