WELLINGTON - The WEF Sport Horse Auction of the VDL Stud has delivered both the champion of the five and seven year olds in the USA. Lovely Boy (by Cambell VDL x Arezzo VDL), only sold in the auction two weeks ago, and Jillz (by Denzel van het Meulenhof x Calvinos) both won.

Lovely Boy was auctioned in Wellington in early March for $ 310,000. Ariel Grange, the new owner of the talented horse, has it brought out by Irish rider Daniel Coyle. Last Friday, the new combination won the Developing Jumper Series for five-year-old show jumpers with a double clear round and the fastest time.

The final for the seven-year-olds was won by Jillz and rider Alex Matz. Jillz also received an additional prize, the Champion Equine Insurance Jumper Style Award. Jillz was sold in last year's WEF Sport Horse Auction.

More background information about the success and further plans of Jillz and Alex Matz can be found in this article.
